Quote

I'm reading an article about Zora Neale Hurston, and it has this marvelous quote from her: "Sometimes, I feel discriminated against, but it does not make me angry.  It merely astonishes me.  How can any deny themselves the pleasure of my company!"

This is so wonderful.  More people (self included!) need to adopt this attitude.

It's been years since I read Their Eyes Were Watching God.  Clearly, I need to go read it again, and possibly some of her other works, too!

I loved Their Eyes Were Watching God so much when we read it in high school! I definitely should read some other works by her - now I'm wondering how I haven't done that yet!
