An Early Celebration

In a couple weeks, Craig and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary!  This seemed to merit a little more than just a nice dinner out, but the actual day is the day before school starts, which is one of Craig's busiest times.  So we celebrated early.  (I told Craig he can't divorce me just because we already had our celebration.  He assured me that wasn't his plan.  Phew!)

Craig found a tiny cabin right on a river that wasn't too far away, but was just enough out in the country so we had no signal-- perfect!!!  We went to church, took naps, and then packed up and headed out!  The cabin had a grill, so we brought steaks, along with potatoes and broccoli and had the most lovely dinner.  We sat in the chairs overlooking the river and read our books while we listened to the gurgling water.  And at night, there were a ton of fireflies in the woods all around and we just sat watching them for over an hour.  It was so peaceful and relaxing!

No, I'm not blow drying my hair when I'm on vacation!

The next morning we took our time getting out (it's so easy to pack and leave when there are just two of you and you're both adults!!!) and got lunch.  We wandered around an antique store for a bit, and then visited Bentley at his work (he was horrified to see us, of course, but we enjoyed hearing him be all polite and customer service-y at the register!) and then finally headed home.  It was so nice to enjoy a chunk of time, just the two of us!

Happy 20 years, Craig-- if the past is any indication, I'm pretty sure the next twenty will be just as amazing!  I never could have imagined a life as happy as the one we're building together.  How did I get so lucky?

(Sorry, but I just love my wedding pictures so much, I'm going to share a few even though I'm pretty sure I do this every year!!!!)

Happy Anniversary, Craig!  I love you forever!
