On the Homefront

While the boys were off doing their thing, I took Kendra and Camille to Target and we caught this gorgeous rainbow as we were going in (and getting rained on!):

And then I was very tempted by these pillows, but my inner cheapskate won out:

And then when we left the store, we were greeted by this awesome sunset:
Who knew the Target parking lot was so pretty?

The next night, I took Camille and her friend Olive roller skating at the rec center.  I thought I would sit and read my book, but it was SO loud, I found that it was easier to just watch YouTube videos with my noise cancelling headphones.  We all had fun, so that worked out!

There were a bunch of people were quite good, and they were also very good at not running down little girls who were slowly making their way around the loop!  So that was awfully nice!

I guess Departure into the Wilderness wore out Colton, because I found him like this after church:

It's honestly a bit like how Charlie likes to sleep!
When pets and owners start to resemble each other!
At the pool, Ryder is working on being able to do a back flip.  He's pretty close to getting it, too!  When he was younger, he used to do forward flips into the water from off the side of the pool and his head would be so close to hitting the edge, it was terrifying to watch.  (He never did hit his head.  But it was still awful.)  I can handle this a LOT better!

And speaking of the pool, we had a YWs pool party!  We always have a combined pool party, but I think it's nice for the girls to have an evening where they can splash around without the boys, too.  (The boys tend to be INSANE-- seriously, last year we had a couple extra-competitive adults making things even crazier and I swear all the boys had bleeding toys by the end of it.  GROSS.)  I also like to give the girls who might be more self-conscious a break from worrying about being seen by the boys in their swimsuits.  Maybe I'm being silly, but they DO seem to have more fun here.  And that makes me happy!

How cute are they???
And lastly, Colton bought a dragon costume for Charlie and I think it's the funniest thing ever.  Charlie, of course, hates it and manages to wiggle out the second you let him, but we just keep putting him back in it-- it's just too fun!!!
