Quiet

I was at the pool with the kids while Craig virtually attended a baptism when the entire neighborhood heard an explosion-- a transformer had blown, apparently!  And it ended up taking almost exactly 12 hours to fix, so we had a pretty hot evening!  Fortunately the dinner plan had always been Costco pizza, so no change was needed there!

After the kids were tucked into bed, Craig and I had to close the pool.  It was a beautiful full moon and for once the pool lights were out, so Craig managed to snap this awesome picture:

It was very peaceful walking around the neighborhood in the dark.  And I enjoyed an excuse to eat so much ice cream!  But I didn't like reading by flashlight and the kids just could NOT wrap their heads around the fact that we couldn't watch TV or stream anything on the laptop or anything at all.  They were dying of boredom.  Fortunately the basement stayed relatively cool and we have a spare bed down there, otherwise I would have been a LOT grumpier about the whole experience!
