Ryder Turned Eleven!

Ryder is officially 11 now!  And, as we usually do, we celebrated over several days with a variety of activities...

First was dinner and presents with Grandma and Grandpa Smith:

Antici.....pation!

Realizing he'd gotten a hoverboard!

In lieu of cake, he requested root beer floats!

Riding his hoverboard while working on his Rubik's cube the next morning

He very quickly put together his new Lego set!

Ryder wanted to do an escape room rather than having a party, so we squeezed that in the day after Thanksgiving.  It was extra special because he got to do it with his cousin Eliot, Aunt Leah, and Grandma Patrice (and me).  The room was really fun and had an Indiana Jones theme and we had a great time!
And finally, on his actual birthday (Sunday), I made him a cake and let him lick the bowl and we gave him our present to him (a magic kit), so that was a very happy-- albeit somewhat low key-- day!  I also made the primary kids sing to him right at 10:31, the time he was born.  That made me happy, somehow.
I sure love this kid!

Happy birthday, Ryder!!!
You make our family so fun!
