The Name Game

With this poor fourth child, I'm having a harder time taking the naming game seriously.  Craig and I spent weeks trying to justify why we could give him the middle name of "Danger."  (Don't worry, we finally decided that we couldn't.)  And now, my favorite-- it occurred to me that, since we already have a kid named Ryder, it would be hilarious to name this one...  are you ready?... Walker!

But we won't do that either.

But I am awfully tempted.  Walker Danger Smith.  It has a ring to it, don't you think?

And the real question.  You wanna know what we are considering?

Awesome. We considered giving Malcolm the middle name Xander. Because then he'd have two Joss Whedon character names. And because then his name would be Malcolm X. But, we didn't. Mainly because in the show Xander is really just a nickname for Alexander and that ruined it for Ryan. A part of me still thinks that would have been really cool though.

Okay, Erin, I cannot even TELL you how much I love this, being both a huge Joss Whedon fan AND a huge fan of Malcom X. I totally wish you'd done it! (I love the name Xander, too, but since my evil ex-boyfriend was Xan (also short for Alexander), that name has been forever scratched from our list of possibilities. Stupid ex-boyfriends...)

I know, it makes me happy that we at least seriously considered doing that, even though it didn't happen. And it makes me happy that you can get how awesome it would've been. :)

If you named him Walker, he could simply go by W!
Danger sounds like a good middle name if you want to bring trouble upon yourself!!! I think I know what you are considering but I would love to see you post it!

LOL I love it. My nephew is Dane ... Jr and they call him "Danejr" and I think it's so dang cute.

And yes, we want to hear your names!

Yes on hearing names. And hahaha on the suggestions! You crack me up. We have friends with a Ryder and a Hunter...so they kind of go together, but not SO much...a thought.

My sister's last name is Fisher. Her oldest is now almost 17, (and named Zach), but they loved the name Hunter, but couldn't do Hunter because Hunter Fisher was too much. Sort of like our congressman, or whoever he is, Jackson Hunter Miller who has three last names. Good luck. We can't have anymore kids because we're left with a made up girl's name that Brandon loves and I hate and Brandon's boy list is down to names like Moses and Ignatius.

All I want to know is, can I please call him Danger even if it has nothing to do with his real name?
