Temple Progress

On a rainy, gloomy Sunday, we heard that kids could donate painted rocks to the Richmond temple that would be used in the foundation!  Our kids thought that sounded really cool and we had several consecutive hours with nothing going on (which is rare, on a Sunday!) so we decided to go for it!

Our garage floor now has paint smeared all over it, but at least they had fun!

When we arrived, we all gasped-- they'd made so much progress!  The groundbreaking was back in April, but we've never seen the site or anything, so this was such a happy surprise!
At the "visitor's center," with the temple frame barely visible in the background

So many steel beams!

You can really see it starting to take shape!

It was a really fun way to spend an afternoon!  And I'd made dinner in the instant pot, so the minute we walked in the door, we could eat!  So everyone was happy.  I can hardly wait for our temple to be open and running-- it will be close enough that I can pop over and do a session while the kids are in school.  (Assuming that day eventually comes...!)
